History of The Coffee Pot Bistro

The Coffee Pot Bistro, otherwise known as The Coffee Pot, opened five years ago and is a family-run business owned by Sara Nadeau. The Coffee Pot uses family recipes for their food and drinks that are served.

The coffee shop is located at 129 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, Texas in a 100-year-old building shared by the Tap Room.

The Coffee Pot hosts many events but their main demographic is college students, ages 18 through 24.

Downtown San Marcos offers a tight-nit feel to the community, with mostly small, locally-owned businesses dominating the scene. The Coffee Pot has the support of local businesses and in turn supports local business as well.

There is a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere at The Coffee Pot. The coffee shop tries to feature and support local bands. Artwork featured at The Coffee Pot is circulated weekly and comes from local artists as well.

Many students from Texas State University-San Marcos come here to relax, get a cup of coffee or tea and do homework. Many of these students have group meetings at the coffee shop and others come here to meet up with friends.

The Coffee Pot also does catering, movie screenings and host parties.

The hours of operation are 7a.m. to 12:30 a.m. everyday.

You can contact The Coffee Pot Bistro at 512-392-3080.
